המחקר שלי מתמקד בספרות הודית-יהודית עכשווית בשפה האנגלית, ובוחן את דרכים בהן קורפוס זה משקף את ההיסטוריה של שלוש קהילות מיעוטים קטנות בהודו, את ההתפרקות שלהן ואת גלגולי החיים החדשים שלהן. המחקר מנתח את השימוש בז'אנרים אוטו/ביוגרפיים, כמו הרומן האוטוביוגרפי, הממואר, וכתיבת היסטוריה משפחתית בקורפוס, ואת ההשלכות המגדריות והפוסטקולוניאליות של ז'אנרים אלה. החקירה המצטלבת הזו – של ז'אנר, מגדר וגניאולוגיה של גלות – מאתגרת את ההיסטוריוגרפיות היהודיות-ההודיות הקיימות ומציעה הבנה חדשה ומקיפה אודות ספרות אודות גלות יהודית בדרום-אסיה.

My research focuses on Anglophone Jewish-Indian contemporary literature, and examines the ways in which the corpus mirrors the history of three miniscule minority communities in India, their disintegration and afterlives. It explores the use of auto/biographical genres, such as the autobiographical novel, the memoir, and family histories in the corpus, as well as the genres’ gendered and postcolonial implications. The intersectional exploration of genre, gender and diasporic genealogy challenges existing Jewish-Indian historiographies, and proposes a new and comprehensive understanding of South-Asian Jewish diasporic literature.
