תחומי מחקר
השיעה - מחשבה וספרות בימי הביניים (בדגש על המאות 11-9 לספה"נ): התגבשות רעיונית וצמיחתו של שיח תיאולוגי.
בשנת 2016 הצטרפתי כמרצה לסגל החוג לשפה וספרות ערבית באוניברסיטת חיפה. מחקריי מתמקדים במחשבה השיעית האימאמית (התרי-עשרית) ומתבססים ברובם על קריאה וניתוח של מקורות שיעים. בפרסומיי האחרונים בחנתי שאלות הנוגעות למגוון סוגות ספרותיות בקנון השיעי, לתפיסת העולם המיתית העולה מהרובד הקדום של קורפוס זה ולאופנים שבהם הוא פורש על-ידי מלומדים מאוחרים. לצד העיסוק במקורות שיעים, אני מתעניין גם בתולדות חקר השיעה במערב מראשית המאה העשרים ועד ימינו. בשנת 2012 השלמתי את לימודיי לתואר שלישי באוניברסיטה העברית בירושלים. בעבודת הדוקטורט בחנתי לעומק, תוך השוואה עם מקורות בני הזמן ומאוחרים יותר, את אחד החיבורים השיעים המוקדמים ביותר שהגיעו לידינו, כּתאב אל-מחאסן, מאת המלומד הקוּמי, אחמד בן מחמד אל-ברקי (מ. 888 או 894 לספה"נ). במהלך לימודיי התארחתי באוניברסיטאות של פרייבורג, ברלין (Freie Universität) וב-École Pratique des Hautes Études בפריז. בשנים 2014-2013 הייתי עמית מחקר (פוסט דוקטורנט) בפרויקט הגרמני-ישראלי Biblia Arabica ובשנים 2016-2014 הייתי עמית (פוסט דוקטורנט) באקדמיה על שם פולונסקי ללימודים מתקדמים במכון ון ליר בירושלים. במהלך השנים לימדתי באוניברסיטה העברית ובאוניברסיטת תל-אביב.
קוראן ופרשנות; קריאה בספרות השיעית המוקדמת; הקוראן בראי השיעה האימאמית; פרשנות הקוראן השיעית; פירושי חדית' שיעי מהתקופה הצפוית (1722-1501); סוגיות יסוד בתיאולוגיה השיעית.במחקריי ובפרסומיי אני בוחן היבטים שונים במחשבה השיעית האימאמית (התרי-עשרית) על יסוד קריאה וניתוח של מקורות שיעים מן המוקדמים ביותר הקיימים בידינו (מהמאה התשיעית לספה"נ) ועד לשלהי התקופה הצפוית (1722-1501). החל מסתיו 2020 (ולמשך 3 שנים) אעבוד על פרויקט מחקר במימון הקרן הלאומית למדע (ISF) שעניינו תופעת החדית' הקֻדסי (מסורות המיוחסות לאל שאינן חלק מן הקוראן) בספרות השיעית.
